Netgear routers are usually pretty solid, but ocasionally they can have issues. I'd be inclined to suspect wireless device interference though. Doesn't have to be persistant, just long enough for you to get booted, and unless you are streaming something from the internet at the same time (which can cause its own connection issues) you won't likely notice it. Maybe see if there are any potential sources of interference between you and the router? a microwave, inshielded speakers, etc. also check and see if anyone nearby got a new wireless phone maybe?. Could also be a driver issue. maybe update the laptop network driver if a new revision is available.
