For the past 3 weeks I have been getting the update available icon. When I go to download it get the message "unable to download Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1"

So what is going on? Any suggestions as to a fix?

winupdate sometimes has a brainfart. Should give you an error code you can google for links at the M$ site for how to clear the cached update files and such.

In the meantime, download the update manually and install it. It seems to hang up a lot on .Net updates--when I see them come up, I always quit WinUpdate and go to the download center to get it manually, then go back and get the rest of the updates after I reboot.

Yup, manual should do the trick, If not, you can reset windows update, but that is a pain in the *** to do.

Tried manual, maybe I wasnt selecting the right download, but it said I didnt have the program.
So I guess ill have to pay a bit more attention, check the program name and go looking for it on my comp.
