Frame Rate Drops When In Game - FF14Follow

#1 Oct 19 2010 at 7:16 AM Rating: Decent
I'm having some HUGE problems with this game. I've tried to look up some help for this and have tried messing with the settings to get the game to work. While running the character select screen started to looking promising, the frame rate DROPS like a stone when I start the game up.

I tried lower buffer, I've lowered the settings, I feel like I've done everything to try and get this to work. I'm not sure what to do.
I -think- my computer shouldbe able to handle the game... What do I need to do?

As far as I can tell from what it says on my computer, I have:

Windows XP
GeForce 6150LE
Memory: 1024 MB DDR2
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Processor 3800+

I'm not very computer savy, so, please bare with me.

If you are talking about FFXIV, I'm surprised you can run it at all on that card...that's an old GeForce motherboard chipset. While it does support most of DX9, it is still an older stripped down GPU core, with only v3.0 shaders among other problems like it might be relying on system memory for graphics memory (no integrated video memory). It's essentially just a step up from Intel Graphics. You need at least a Geforce 9 series GPU in the nvidia cards (9600 or higher, with v4.0 shaders among other features).

FFXIV System requirements:

Note those requirements are for a DROP-IN video card, not integrated motherboard GPU's (ie not laptop numbers).

If you have a motherboard/laptop graphic solution, you need to research it to see what actual GPU core it is compared to in the standalone drop-in cards. This site might have some info on a specific integrated solution, otherwise just google it:

This may not be your exact GPU solution, but they are essential based on the same core (C51).
