Freshly built PC issuesFollow

Hi there! I got all of my parts in yesterday, and finally picked up a case to put them in today. Everything is in place thanks to this guide, but when I went to plug in my monitors, at first they didn't work, then after fanagling them, I have one plugged into my older Nvidia card, but cant get into Win XP after POST. The system just restarts. When I get to the Safe Mode prompt, it will boot to login, but my USB goes dead and I have no input. I also get no beeps whatsoever. All of my fans are spinning freely as well.

I tried flashing the CMOS, did nothing.
Remove/change locations of the RAM, nothing.
As of now the only things connected are the older ATI card, one HD (that worked as of last night). I don't have a DVI to VGA converter, so I can't plug my monitor into the onboard VGA port, so I have no idea what I can test there.

Anyhoo, here's my specs: (all of which are recognized in the BIOS)
OS: Win XP SP3
PSU: Antec EarthWatts 650w
Processor: AMD Phenom II BE (4 core)
Mobo: MSI 870-G45
Gfx: MSI Nvidia 460 GTX (cyclone 768DS), my stand in is an XFX Nvidia 6800XT (which works)
RAM: 2x2GB

When plugging into my shiny new Nvidia 460GTX, I get "No input, check signal" bouncy box on my monitor. I've tried swapping plugs, only one or the other, and I can't figure it out.

Houston, we have USB control in Safe Mode.
Running Win XP reapir disc in a few after I be sure to install drivers from the mobo cd, if I can.

Next question: my 460 GTX has two 6-pin power connectors on it, but the cable coming out of my PSU labeled "PCI Express" is 6+2 pins, although I have another 6-pin available. Do I need to be plugging in both of the 6-pins or is there some magical combination for the 6+2-pin cable across two 6-pin ports? Still can't figure out why that's not working with either/both monitors.

Nvidia cards sometimes won't enabel the second monitor out until you can get into windows proper and install the full driver. You might still be in the native XP 16 bit generic default driver at this point until you can get booted properly.

Alternativly, you could have a bad out of the box video card, or one that isn't seating fully due to it hitting something on your board, the latter is almost unheard of though.
