FFXIV same Benchmark score on different resolutions?! Follow

System specs:
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II x4 955 Processor 3.21 GHz
Mother board: Asus M4A79 Deluxe Socket AM2+ AMD 790FX Chipset + ATI SB750 Dual Channel DDR2 1066/800/667 4x PCI-Express x16 2.0 5x SATA 3Gb/s 1x eSATA 8-Ch HD Audio GigaLAN 12x USB2.0 IEEE1394 Support (45nm Phenom 140W CPU
RAM: 4Gb

So I ran the FFXIV benchmark at Low resolution (1280x720) and scored around between 4000-4100 I ran it at high resolution (1920x1080) and scored 3980-4040.

I've been reviewing the scores of different computer hardware set ups and the variance of low to high res. scores. Usually there is a large gap.

I've also been trying to research why my pc has such a close score between resolutions. Unfortunately I've had little success.

Does anyone know why this could be happening? Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

This generally means that your system is being bottlenecked by your CPU.

Which GPU are you running? Stating 5800 series is not very specific.

At stock speeds that CPU isn't fast enough to get the most out of your 5870. Before you ask, no, there's no reason to replace it. If you overclock that CPU to between 3.8-4.2Ghz it will allow the 5870 to kick your high res score up to around 5000 and your low res will go even higher. Buy an aftermarket CPU cooler first though. It doesn't have to be super expensive. You can usually find a number to pick from around $25-50 bucks @ www.newegg.com. Look for whatever fits the socket on your motherboard and has good user reviews.
