D-LINK DIR 615, connection dropsFollow

Greetings

I recently purchased a new Dlink router to replace my former Dlink. With my old router I would DC after 5-10 minutes until I used port forwarding. I tried this on the new router but still DC after a few minutes. 25,80,110,443,50000-65535 are the ports that are recommended being open. When I go through the process as explained at http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DIR-615/Final_Fantasy_XI_-_PC.htm and click save settings, I am taken to a loading page. After 15 seconds, I am taken back to the port forwarding page but I don't see any reflection of ports being opened. I also confirmed ports are not open by downloading the free portchecker provided on the site.

Does anyone have any similar experiences or can anyone see what I am overlooking. I have the same problem connecting wired or wireless, xp or windows 7, using different characters and tried changing zones. I keep having the same problem.

As an update, no success yet. I cloned the MAC address of the PC but still get the boot after a couple of minutes after getting online on all my systems.

I also tried to update the firmware but I have the latest version 5.00 E1. I'm considering rolling it back but only as a last resort.

Additional question, when I am setting up port forwarding, which IP address do I put into the forwarding rule since I am accessing POL on multiple systems?

I got this resolved finally by enabling the connection check under network settings on the POL login page. I don't even know what that does...but after enabling it on each of my PC's, everything works. Go figure.
