On the PC I am on and most of the ones at home when I Move the mouse, the tip of the cursor ( pointer ) is the "hot spot" for selecting a link.

On the PC I have at home for school, this "hot spot" is off set a bit almost a 1/4 of a inch.

I am at a loss how to fix this. I have tired different cursors with no luck.

Any ideas?

Are you using a custom pointer icon? The image of the pointer may be off center compared to the actual pointer location.

Nope. I'm using standard pointers.

Which OS are you using, and did you try to re-install/update the mouse driver?

I have reinstalled the drivers that came with the microsoft mouse I bought for it.

Download the newest drivers from Microsoft's site, uninstall the old drivers completely, and then run the installer for the new drivers. Is the mouse a specialty one or just a standard 3 button and a wheel mouse?

Its just a standard mouse. I will down load the drivers again per your sugguestion.

I will have to dig a bit to remove the old drivers. Thats something I have never done for a mouse before.

Just go to the Device Manager located under the Hardware tab in the System Properties (hit the Windows Key + Pause/Break Key), it will be listed under "Mice and other pointing devices". Right click your mouse in the list it and select "Uninstall Driver".
