Hi folks, need some help!

I'm currently staying at a hotel and using the hotel connection to play FF. I've got a hunch that the hotel's firewall is causing my problem... but maybe not?

When I check the AH, like say, I select Weapons section, nothing shows up. Now, normally the <<Downloading Data>> message flashes up top, but it doesn't show at all and the listings show up blank. This happens on all sections of the AH. But I can put my items up for sale, no problem, I can check the price history of the items I have up for sale. But when I try looking for something to bid on, the list is just blank.

This also happens intermittently when I check who's online in my ls. From the menu, I hit the Linkshell button and nothing happens, the box which displays the list doesn't even show up. I don't hear an error beep or something... it's just that nothing happens at all. This also occurs sometimes when doing a /sea all for example. But this is intermittent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

The AH problem however is very annoying. Any thoughts? I'm thinking the hotel's firewall or ISP is blocking a port? I haven't touched any settings on my laptop and it worked just fine prior to coming to the hotel.

This problem only happens when I need a listing of something. My inventory's fine, lag is fine, everything's fine except for the AH and sometimes /sea.

That's just the game timing out from latency issues, it happens even on regular connections when a lot of game clients are hitting the server at the same time. I suggest you use FFXIAH.com to browse the AH while playing, as for /sea and the LS list you'll just have to keep trying.
