Game interface lagFollow

I just put together a new gaming pc for the first time. I bought all new parts and a copy of Windows XP with SP3. I equipped the pc with an 8600 GT vid card, so i'm sure it can handle WoW. I installed Oblivion to try out my new rig and noticed the game interface and mouse lags, but the enviromental graphics are excellent. I opened up WoW and noticed there is lag when I run the mouse across the buttons on the log in screen. I can't log into WoW because my intrenet isn't hooked up yet, but i'm almost positive the interface is gonna lag when I log into the game completely.

I don't have any anti virus running and I checked for any processes that were using u resources . I would be grateful for any ideas or suggestions in this matter.

Badly wired USB/PS2 port, usually. If it's a case USB port, try plugging the mouse into the MB port instead.
