Basically, i bought a Samsung R60plus laptop 6 months ago, around the time i incidentally quit Warcraft. However, now am i of a mind in which i want to return to playing the game and i was wondering if you could make sense of the specifications of Warcraft.
As you probably already know, the "Recommended Specifications" for Warcraft are:
- Intel Pentium® IV 1.5 GHz or AMD XP 1500+ MHz
- 1024 MB RAM
- 64 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX 5700 class card or above
- Two-button scroll-wheel mouse.
The final one we can negate, i am Tech-savvy enough to understand that at least! However, the Samsung R60plus lists its specifications at the following url:

Would you be able to compare the specifications of the R60 to the requirements of Warcraft and explain to me whether or not my workhorse will be able to trod alongside the racehorses?

The laptop is good in several areas, but if you want the "full" experience of World of Warcraft, the video card and memory are lacking a bit. Even though WoW is a less demanding game than most MMORPGs due to its graphics, it still may require more than an x1250.
Also, any system today should have 2GB or more of memory. 1GB is enough for XP and one or two running applications. I hope you aren't running it with Vista! Trouble is with upgrades on laptops, it may not be possible to upgrade these two components.
Give the game a try and see how far you can push it. You'll know then!

I've managed to stick another 2gb of memory in my machine by replacing one of my old cards, so im hoping the memory won't be a problem. However, you say my video card will let me play Warcraft just not to its full capabilities?

Your card is fine. You probably cant run it full out uber detail, but it will run fine.
