I searched until I couldn't search no more on this forum to avoid repeat question but couldn't find it.
I am in the process of getting a new computer and am going to have to transfer my FFXI files from one computer to the other so that I don't have to start a character again. Can anyone please tell me how to transfer my characterfiles from one computer to the other and if I need to install FFXI first or last.

You character files are stored mostly server side so you wont have to start a new char even if you do install on a new comp.
What you can do though is save your macros which are located : (drive letter):\Program Files\Playonline\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XI\USER
Copy the entire user folder.
Install FFXI completely on your new comp then copy the user folder.
