So I have a question that hopefully some folks can shed light on. Got up this morning and my pc had a Norton pop up asking me if I wanted to allow setup.exe to access the internet, and stated it was replaced to NCH Swift Sound and told me the location was D:\66375ead24090c062ca96cda75912c\Setup.EXE Now the folder does not exist on my d drive, does not show as hidden either, and I have no executables on my d drive. I have installed no new programs lately, I did not allow the program, and at same time of this happening I was receiving a windows update that required me to restart my pc, and the update states it was a security update.

I search for error of this and some folks on internet feels its a Norton bug and that the company name stated is incorrect. Just wondering of anyone here has had anything like this recently happen. It is possible I may of picked up something surfing the web, and although not fool proof I do use Firefox and no script and Norton and if this was a Trojan or virus it seems odd that it would place itself on a drive other then the one the os is running from. program was attempting to connect to a dns service and was attempting to send outbound udp.

update: So i searched my registry for the string of random letters that the folder was called and found: d:\66375ead24090c062ca96cda75912c\wcu\dotnetframework\dotnetfx20\ in several things dealing with the .net framework that Microsoft has, and windows had that listed as a most recent install point? When I checked the windows update site it stated my last update was Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (KB110806)

so it seems this may of been a temp folder used my windows to update it. next question would be why make a random folder on a random drive? But I'm no fan of the way windows does things. Based on the fact windows update did happen and the resulting info found contained with this in the reg I would say false alarm on my end, and that windows must of deleted this temp folder when it was done which is why it is no longer found now.
