I have a computer that ran WoW perfectly back in 2006. I just reinstalled everything from scratch. Now when it loads up the login screen is pitch black & the character select screen is too. When I log in, my character is invisible and about 5 seconds later my machine freezes.
Did Blizzard do something to **** me off? Like up the specs required to play their game? I haven't been following the game throughout the years. It wan decently in early 2007 on my laptop, which has since been destroyed(physically) ...I'm not really sure what to do lol.

Ok, here's what you need to do - idiot.
First, check to see what version of direct X you're using.
10 is a good number, a very good number.
Next, check what sort of video card you have, and update to the most recent drivers.
This *should* solve your problem. It definitely solved mine.
