PlayOnline viewer connection problemsFollow

Hi, i'm trying to start playing the game again after moving and bought another copy of FF (was going to start fresh). I logged into my old account and i could send/receive messages, check my friend's list, chatrooms etc.

When it came to playing FFXI, I get the "network is either busy or therte is a problem with your connection, please try again later...". I think its POL-1356. I did a tracert and "request timed out."
I am on a campus ethernet line and things like connecting to Xbox Live, WoW, EQ2, pretty much any online game work perfectly fine except FFXI.

I was wondering if anyone could help me find a way around this.

Didnt think anyone would reply to this but thanks for the reply. I contacted square enix and all they could tell me was which ports i needed open, so i requested that my ISP open them up but they wont =(.

I was wondering if it would be possible for me to play the Xbox360 version instead of PC since i can connect to Xbox live fine or will i have the same problems?

Tech support told me they didnt know.
