I just moved into college and of the 3 servers I use, I am unable to connect to 2. From this I have come to the conclusion that the ports are blocked by my college's firewall, but in order for the tech people to open up the ports, they need to know if they are TCP or UDP. Thus far the only info I can find is at [link=http://protocolinfo.org/wiki/Ventrilo[/link] which says that, "By default, servers listen on TCP port 3784 for voice data and UDP port 3784 for status queries. While this can be changed, in the free version of the server this configuration option is locked, so all free servers use port 3784."
Being damn near computer illiterate, I have no idea what status queries are. If anyone can give me any help in the matter or guide me in the right direction I would be most appreciative.
