Won't accept any names in FFXI for character creationFollow

I'm having problems trying to create a character. Upon entering the characters name and server I get a error message everytime saying its already in use. I've tried other names and servers, even gibberish random letters and i still get the error message FFXI-3322 everytime so I can't create a character.
Have you tried using a default or auto generated name by chance?
Did all the updates run successful for POL?
Did all the updates run successful for Final Fantasy XI?
Have you tried to do a "Check Files" to verify all .dat?
POL -> Check Files
If you have tried all of those and still nothing I would possibly suggest to reinstall Final Fantasy XI and try it again. I know that at times Square Enix does random registration maintenance however I don't think there was any going on at the time of your post.
