PC evilness, moved to heah.Follow

#1 Aug 02 2007 at 5:22 AM Rating: Default
Ok... First off...

I have noticed a lot of funky processes running on my task manager, and so I went to that tasklist.org place and found out a lot of them were trojans, viruses, and such implanted by my newly downloaded AIM or by surfing the three or four google pages and Alla to get to this point.

I went and tried to stop the processes, but many of them said they were critical Windows processes or they forced me to reboot when aborted. Now, why is it that 100% for sure trojans, backdoor hijackers and viruses and the like are considered critical process and are not recognized by the very product that tasklist.org said to download?

In that respect, I would like to ask if anyone knows of a really great, free adware, spyware, trojan, backdoor w/e scanner that will actually, for once, pick up this crap that no other scanner can. Or a combination of scanners, whichever you've found to pwn the evilness that is the intarnet's weakness.

Secondly...

I can not for the life of me make my wheel or the arrow keys scroll IE pages right. >_< They sort of...skip down about 5 lines and move the whole stupid page in a jagged, jolty sort of way. Very laggy looking. I've turned off smooth mouse, restarted, reinstalled, closed out, and juggled oranges to try and make this work. Only having one tab open, upgrading to the latest IE, changing the mouse software to scroll one line at a time (which it doesn't) and I believe me and a cow jumped over a moon together too, in a weird voodoo rituial to attempt to solve the problem, and it still doesn't work. XD
Please helpies. ;_;

Take into consideration also, that this is a brand new drive. Newly formatted, and has never been touched until about an hour ago.

Thanks to everyone in advance for the responces or help. :D

All the kids in the OT forum were stabbed in the *** by a hot poker covered in dog **** this morning. They asked if I'd like to partake in the asshattery of the poking rituals, but I declined, and was shoved off to sea in a dingy, only to land here. Hopefully you guys are nicer. XD

Sorry, I haven't had my Coffee..

Step 1. Get Spybot.

Step 2. Restart in Safemode.

Step 3. Run Spybot.

Step 4. Reboot into safemode again and run Spybot again

Step 5. Start up normally. Install Firefox and Adblock.

Step 6. Try an Anti-virus. I'm not up on them since I don't personally use them. So Look around I'm sure someone else will possibly beable to help you with Anti-Virus but Spybot should give you a pretty good start.

Also.. Hi. :)

Thanks, nLoD. I'll try that.

And, make sure that coffee doesn't have any hot pokey things attached to it, wouldn't want to turn out like the OT guys. :P XD
