Hiya guys, I recently bought an 8800GTS Evga Superclocked 640MB DX10 DDR3 graphics card. Was planning on putting it into my Dell. Would have been sweet but the card is to long/wide and it's non-refundable. So i figured I would just build a custom PC. I already have a monitor (DVI hook up), speakers, an a USB wireless keyboard/mouse that I can use so I just need the PC itself.

So with my card could anyone please recommended motherboard, case, soundcard, power supply, the whole 9 yards. I want to make it sweet and basically be a full gaming rig. I got 4GB of ram I can put into it, so not concerned about that, but everything I need.

I really just want people would recommended, not concered about price, but keeping it upder a grand or 2 grand would be awesome. I don't need the best but something to play WoW at max, Crysis at max, Quake Wars at max (or as close to max as I can). So can anyone help me?

Also, how hard is it to put all this together by yourself, with no experience what so ever?

EDIT: I started to surf Newegg and not knowing anything this is waht I think would work. I still (I believe) need a Motherboard, Processor, and Sound (just want to play sound and hook a mic up), I'll probally need a different case, but I have just about no clue what I'm doing.

Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133132
CD Burner (x2 though I couldn't find one that also did DVD's so this needs to be changed) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827249017
Harddrive (thikning about getting two of them) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822144309
Power Supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182045

What kind of memory? Some motherboards only take a certain type and or series which will run well.

Next question, what do you want Intel or AMD? This will also limit you on your motherboard choices.

Here is a system I run;
Lian Li PC Case
AMD Crosshair MOBO with AM2 slot
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz overclocked to 3.8Ghz(stable) 4.5Ghz(For bragging, not stable at all).
4Gb Memory Corsair paired
Dual WD Raptors running in a RAID 0 config
Dual Nvidia 8800GTX running in SLI
Water cooled on both GPU's and also CPU.

There are a ton of options and to be honest it comes down to what you prefer, Intel or AMD among other things. I personally think AMD chips are better as they are very stable even when overclocked to outrageous voltages and speeds.

I would suggest going to new egg and reading the reviews as well as doing online comparisons or reviews like what cnet and others do.

If you want to get into some specs, sharkyextreme.com is a nice resource as well.

Kill yourself.

Not sure what your point is here, I buy components which last not get cooked when you try to OC the processor even 15%.

From my 15+ YRS. working with computers even with all the CPU wars on who is faster and cheaper I have had more AMD chipsets even on the old cores hold up to voltage and heat better then any intel chip I have ever tested including all their new Quad core chips.

I am not a AMD fan boy at the least, I just buy and use what works the best. I personally have gone thru more intel chips due to heat or voltage issues on what normally are slight OC's where an AMD can take and do 3 times over.

You're either a moron or a liar, either way, we're done discussing this.

I like how you made absolutely no attempt to refute his point with any facts. AMD has traditionally been better for overclocking, it wasn't til the Core 2 series that Intel has really made any amazing progress in that area. Also, the "kill yourself " on the mention of the Windsor core is unwarranted, considering what you get for your money.

Thanks, I did specifically so you could chime in with absolutely nothing of value and still not feel guilty about making an utterly pointless post that helped no one.

A hot under performing chip with no upgrade path that uses more power that locks you into an AM2 platform? Yeah, fantastic.

A friend of mine bought that Antec case and loves it.

It even has a pot tray on top to hold your bowl and weed while you're gaming.

Can't fail with this setup. +140 to get 2 of 150 gig raptors insted of the 36 gig ones. I hope you look the specs up. It's powerfull enough for me at the moment. :)

EDIT: However, I did purchase a Zalman Fan, because I like a freezing cold CPU.
