Error code:3001Follow

I'm trying to play FFXI's PS2 version, and after I create a character and choose an alleigance, the screen goes black for a few minutes and i get "Error code:FFXI-3001-connection timed out" WTF is this? If anyone knows how to fix this, please tell.

Are you using Dial up or Cable?

Dial up does have time out's which if you take to long to actually select your name and character it will cut you off.

If you are on Cabel/DSL then make sure your firewall is either turned off or a rule has been made to allow your PS2 to connect. This would be the firewall for your router if you do in fact have one.

More information on how you connect such as Dial up, Cable, and also what type of physical connect you have will allow someone to determine a fix a little easier.
