Hey, I bought a new computer and a new graphics card, and they're working fine for everything else, but when I run FFXI (note: after all the PoL stuff and actually in the game) everything is a little blurry like my game's resolution settings aren't mixing with my video card's settings, or something.
This has happened before (in fact, every time I get a new video card) but I can't remember how to fix it.
Plz help?

Well first thing first, have you updated your Drivers at all for your Graphics card?
You can also try and "tweak" your settings using the Final Fantasy XI Config tool located in the Playonling folder. There you can change the compression among other things such as the background image which you should probably raise.
If you are still having problems post what kind of video card you are using.

Well I JUST (yesterday) downloaded the software/drivers for my new NVidia 8600 Graphics card so they should be very recent.
I went into the FFXI Config menu thing through the program files and the resolution settings were equivalent to the ones on my main screen, so I thought that was fine.
I'm using an nvidia e-GeForce 8600 GT Graphics card with 256 MB DDR3 RAM and a PCI-E slot (DX10 ready). That's about all the information I have on the card, but apparently it's fairly new on the market.

Well here is a post I dug up after thinking about it and maybe be your problem, it sounds like you might be Fake Anti aliasing.
Fake Antialiasing
You can set a higher resolution for your background than the display mode. Doing this will force your graphics card to downsample the image, which will do a weighted average on nearby pixels thus blurring pixels whose neighbors are not the same color. In layman's terms: You'll get simple antialiasing by setting your background resolution (0003 and 0004) higher than your display resolution (0001 and 0002).

I would take a look at that post, some of it may be a little advance if you are not real computer sauvey however he details this pretty well. If you don't want to dive into that try setting your background in the FFXI config a little lower then your resolution you are using on your monitor instead of even. You can also try and turn off Bump Mapping if it isn't already.

It's too bad my FFXI Account was cancelled due to my debit card expiring and the mailing address being my home in Kennewick, while I'm up here in Pullman (Go Cougs!), and my dad either hasn't found it in the mail yet, or has been too forgetful to send it to me.
