Need some more information;

1) Are you trying to burn just a .avi, .mpg, .vob or another video format?
2) Does your home DVD player play DVD=-R/RW discs?
3) Is this video "legal" as if you are trying to copy movies there are security built in which stops this, and I won't divulge information on that topic at all, sorry.
4) What program are you using? Nero, Roxio, something else?

it sounds like you need to tell nero that it's a DVD you are trying to burn and not a VCD. VCD/CD's are limited to 80 minutes. when the New Compliation "wizard" pops up, in the upper left hand corner, you need to select "DVD", then below that "DVD-Video". if "DVD" isn't available, then Nero doesn't recognize your player as a DVD burner.

if you converted to "DVD Format" you should have a collection of files. i can't remember the extensions, i want to say some are .vob. drag all of that into the VIDEO_TS folder and burn.


note: i'm using Nero 7, so it may look a tad different for you.


edit: try videohelp.com. it's where i learned and find a lot of information out. the link points a search i did, and that first link links off site is exactly what i was trying to say, but with pictures and better description.
