Well it seems wild blue high speed is my only option for high speed in my area.I had wireless but some @#$!%$#% stared his own grid and it interferes with the connection I had. which made me cancel contract with the isp. Now my shiny new XBOX 360 is used for er... one player games... so anyone who uses wild blue does it work and does the initial lag suxors for FFXI thanks :D
I would recommend contacting Wild blue. I think the problem you are experiance is the downfall of sat internet the fact it has huge ping times. if I were you I would recommend droping it and moving over to a ISDN line. It's out of everyones time and is usally slow but more then you would need for playing FFXI that's if you don't have any providers for DSL in your area and Dial-up just sucks lol
It'll work but you''ll be on average about .6 seconds behind everyone else. It makes really fast pace fights in MMOs kinda tough.
I've played low levels of FFXI on Satellite and it was about the same as every MMO... playable, but if you've played it on real broadband you'll pull your hair out until you get used to it.
