I recently purchased a 22" Widescreen monitor for my computer. The optimal scale is 1605x1050 or something like that. The in game scale works for the frontend gui, but my issue is that the background rez is only 1024x1024. How can I get it to look better that just that?

this is for the newest version of FFXI.

There is a configuration utility in same folder as ffxi. It allows you to "buff" up your graphics.

This thread might have some help, as well. It's a guide to circumvent the pretty limited settings in the FFXIConfig tool, but beware if your video card can't handle what you set the game too...
