Running FFXI On Mac Parallels: ProblemFollow

I'm trying to run my copy of FFXI (Vana 2007) on my Mac, but i'm using Parallels to run Windows XP. It is to my understanding many people are able to get this working. When I try to play though it says that there is a problem establishing Direct 3D.

In addition to this, the Viewer menus are incredibly pixelated and choppy, any many actions I take close out POL. Apart from that, it was able to update and install fine and connect to the internet perfectly.

I'm running SP1 and updating as we speak. I would really like to know, though, if there is something I can do to fix my problem. Again, Parallels Windows XP on a MacBook Pro.

Suggestions, feedback, comments, etc. Thank you.

Unless you are a programmer or can hunt around the web at this time parallels can't run Final Fantasy XI because it dose not support Direct 3D it's using a Draw for it's video.

I got it to work however I am a programmer for a living and it's no simple task. I do believe Parallels is coming out with a version which does support Direct 3D however I can't remember the date which they will release.

Your best bet is to use boot camp if you want to play Final Fantasy XI at this time then if you wish to upgrade your parallels when support happens you can do that. Be warned however some companies will not offer you a free upgrade, some places are complete jerks about that like Roxio (God I hate Roxio making me shell out more money for a new version)
