FFXI always reboots my computer! (PLEASE help me!)Follow

Okay, so whenever I get on Final Fantasy XI, my computer will randomly reboot, sometimes ten minutes into gameplay, sometimes several hours. There is (usually) no warning for this (when there is, Play Online will kick me off once first before the reboot, or the graphics will glitch up, or some "Dr. Watson" program will show up with an error and make my start bar unaccessible), and it just reboots very suddenly. It's very disturbing. It usually lasts longer after virus checks with Ad Aware and Spy Bot Search & Destroy, but Ad Aware says there are two viruses it can't remove, and I get savedump.exe and dumprep.exe in my task manager a lot, and they don't seem like very healthy things. @@;

So anyway I've been looking for a way to fix it forever (it's been doing this awhile) and I finally found the link in someone's sig on another forum to go to prod2.srtest.com/referrer/srtest and test to see if I could run FFXI. It said my disk space was low (although I already have it installed), and I HAVE had problems with my C Drive getting too full, so I finally made 6.09 gigs of free space (WITH all expansion packs installed). It also told me I might need to update my video card driver (not the card itself, thank goodness) and sent me to www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp to do so. The problem is it doesn't tell me what kind of driver I have nor how to install the new one. I'm not a computer dummy, but you do have t do something once just to learn, and I've never done this before. It tells me I have "GeForce" video card, but there are three different "GeForce" updating options on that site, and don't know what I should download. How do I check my computer for this stuff?

Here's a copy-paste of what the "Can I Run It?" site tells me:

Quote:

I'm running a kind of old Compaq Windows XP that doesnt get updated much, and I don't have any antivirus programs. I use the built-in Windows firewall, and Mozilla Firefox as an internet browser. (Dunno how much help that last one is, though.) And yes, I use windower.

So, any help with updating the video card drivers or if you have any clue as to what might help FFXI run better, I'd appreciate all the help I can get. I've posted my problem on a lot of forums, and asked a lot of people, and everyone says it should be easy to fix, then they give vauge instructions and act surprised when the problem continues. I need specific instructions on what to do to fully be able to carry out the action. I could really use help, and no one seems to be able to help me.

If you can help me, I would be forever grateful. This problem is seriously starting to have bad effects on myself and my computer!

Grab a better video card. Preferably one with at least 128 MB of RAM. You'll be glad you did. If that's not an option, you know which model of vid card you have, grab the newest set of drivers that include that card. Also need to find a way to get those things that Ad-Aware is picking up off of your system.

Yeah what Kastigir said,

Also "Your driver version number is: 6.14.10.5305"? You might want to install at least DirectX 9c and also upgrade your video card drivers. Nvidia releases their video card graphics in packs so all you have to do is install the correct pack which there is only 4 choices at most.

Having at least a 128MB card would be better if not a 256MB.
