So today I was just browsing around, muted my speakers for a quick secondd in preparation for a loud video, my worst fears were confirmed so I quickly exited the site, unmuted my speakers, and found that the sound is less than half as loud as the before. I check my settings, and they are still all the same, my bass seemed to have disappeared too.

Check the wire connections, including where they go into the speaker (wiggle them)

Also, how did you mute? On the computer? is there a button on the speakers?
