Powering up pc problemFollow

I've just recenlty been having problems with my pc.

The problem is that the power cuts out and then it trys to power up again a few times and never makes it past the first 2 secounds.

This so far has happened 3 times now in 1 day.

I have removed the extra ram that I have brought for it a few months back.
This seems to have solved the problem but it is still early to know for sure.

Also I've got engeres coming out to check it out.

But could the ram cause this?
I'm guessing that the ram has been drawing too much power from the motherbord and causing the system to fail.

But if this is the case then why has it taken so long for this probelm to start?

Anyway if anyone got any items on what this could be or has simler experance, I would like to here and also how you manage to solve the problem/fix it etc...
