I've searched this forum, but it seems like no one else has the same problem I do.
I've had to reinstall my FFXI on my computer because of an error message I keep getting.
As soon as I press 'Play' the screen turns black (As normal) to start up the intro. The intro doesnt start though. What happens is the black screen dissapears back to the normal Playonline menue, and an error message pops up saying
'Terminated as error occured in Final Fantasy XI. Failed to initialize Direct3D. Please check that this computer has the required specifications to run Final Fantasy XI(-1).'
Now, my computer is a SONY Vaio 2005, so it's about a year old. I just took it into get a virus removed and got brand new virus protection.
The message began to appear once the new expasion pack came out, so I'm thinking it requires something my computer doesn't have.
Anyone know what's up? T_T

I feel slightly stupid, what is DXDiag?
It's a directX diagnostic page that comes with windows
Start -> Run -> "dxdiag" -> Ok
Start -> Run -> "dxdiag" -> Ok
Yea, but I'm guessing that's not what I was looking for. Can you get a screenshot/paste of the Display tab?

The tab marked display that you see in the 2nd image. Hell, unless somebody else steps in here, it won't matter.
