whenever i try to start up FFXI, playonline works, but when FFXI starts i get this error message:

"Terminated as error occurred in Final Fantasy XI. Failed to recognize hardware TnL. Please check that this computer has the required specifications to run Final Fantasy XI (-1)."

My graphics card is an Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller.

is this the problem? does anybody know?

Intel cards are typically integrated into the motherboard. Integrated cards lack the hardware to play FFXI. You'll need to purchase a new video card for FFXI to work.

Yes, I have had this problem before when I first started FF. Square made aggrements with GeForce and nVida to have only the nVida cards work with FF XI

Stop talkin outta yer ***. As long as the card supports Hardware TnL it will play FFXI. The only way your statement would be remotely close to the truth was if you said EQII.
