Returning to FFXI...NEED HELPFollow

Over a year ago I had to quit FFXI due to my job taking me away from my computer. I was wanting to return to FFXI but when I go to reinstall it I get an Invalid CD Key message. I know I am typing it in correctly so how is it invalid? If this is due to me cancelling my account, well I had no choice. I wasn't paying for something I wasn't using. Can I just purchase a new license for cheaper than buying a new program? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The CD key has been consumed. If you remember your POL login and password you could most likely recover your old account. Only other way would be to buy a new copy of FFXI to acquire a new CD key.

Thank you very much.

I wasn't sure if I cancelled POL or not but when I went in to add a member I remembered my login name and it recovered my POL ID, now I just need my password. I assume that I'm still in the system if it recovered the ID. Hopefully they can send me my password.

For those quit FFXI or those that just haven't done this yet, WRITE DOWN YOUR PASSWORD in the book. It might make returning a ton easier. I was sorta rushed when I quit and never thought to do that.

When I cancelled my content ID, POL wasn't cancelled. It later was made inactive. I don't think you can or really should cancel your POL account as it doesn't cost anything to keep, and sometime in the future they may add more games to POL.

Hey thanks a bunch

I am on the phone with POL right now (on hold now for 5 minutes) trying to reset my POL password. Hopefully this will work. I don't care if my character is gone I just want to play again even if I do have to start over.

Of course looking at the price of the game now I woouldn't be too upset if I needed to purchase a new one.

On hold for 25 minutes now. Their automated system let me through so I would assume that means they are working today.

Well, after waiting on hold for 40 minutes I am now assuming the automated system turned on at 9am PST but they are closed due to memorial day. I guess there is always tomorrow even though I don't want to wait that long.
