error code:FFXI-3001Follow

I am receiving this message after i have selected my character to log into ffxi screen goes black as if loading stays that way for about 2-3 minutes then I get error code: FFXI-3001 not sure if this is a server problem or a software issue please give any feedback you have to offer thank.
