I'm looking at purchasing a laptop on which I hope to be able to run FFXI. My questions concern mobile processors and mobile video cards.
Are there any pitfalls I should look out for in terms of getting a processor with 'mobile technology'?
Is the NVidia GE GO6600 128MB card compatible with FFXI?

'Mobile technology' is usually just an architecture slightly redesigned with heating concerns taken more heavily into consideration. The problem many people have with gaming on laptops is that many don't come with nvidia or ati video cards. The one you have listed should run ffxi like a champ.
A tip: A big consideration for buying a computer is that laptops not only cost more initially, but are difficult or impossible to upgrade and you will have to spend more money sooner when the laptop falls out of date.
