I have recently purchased an xbox 360 and want to hook it up to my flat screen monitor with the VGA HD AV cable.
However i do not have a VGA port on the back of my monitor. Does anyone know if there is a way around this with some sort of adapter?
My technichal knowledge is pretty limited so please make it as simple as possible.

I'm assuming that you have a VGA cable similar to your Xbox cable coming out of the back of your monitor but the wrong adapter type (gender) to be able to connect the two?
If that's the case you need a gender changer to connect the two cables. Either a male to male or a female to female one.
Something like these.
