Many Errors in Playonline InstallationFollow

Okay guys, I played FFXI from last halloween untill easter this year, but because of my mom being hospitilized and bills being quite large, I stopped playing all together. However, I didn't unsubscribe, I just let the bill run out and stopped playing. I dont want the same character I used anyways, I want to completely start over. I decided I would reinstall the game, and here are the current problems.

-I installed PlayOnline...when I opened it up and pressed start, it opened up the window, but it wasnt full screen. It was like, Half screen, and when the music started playing and the video followed, it owuld play for like 3 seconds, then freeze, and keep playing that same music part over and over again. It then showed the error.."ReadFile Error. 8040452,1441792,0,32768" I had to control+alt+deleat to get out of it.

-I did this 4 times..each time unsuccessfully. So I uninstalled the player. Somewhere at the end of the uninstalation, an error occured. I dont know what it was.

-I then went back in to install PlayOnline, and this happen:
+Pressed Install PlayOnline Viewer and Tetra Master
+The installer comes up, and then ends, saying that an error caused it to end, and it could not be fully uninstalled (?).
+After I click finish, a few boxes pop up. The first is "Windows Installer" which then is "Playonline Viewer and Tetra Master". It says "Preparing to Install" and "Gathering Required Information". 4 bars into it, it stops and gives me an error saying "Installer stoped prematurely". I then click okay, and the same box pops open, goes 4 bars in, and it all happens all over again.
+I go back to my SquareEnix folder, and the only thing in it is..

SquareEnix>playonline viewer>viewer>data>system>sound>viewer.esd>se00057.spw

Its the only file in there, I tried deleating it, but it didnt work. I then completely reformatted the drive, so its COMPLETELY empty. There are NO files on that harddrive. I tried the whole instalation process again, and the same errors occur. I'm trying to INSTALL it, and after all the errors it says it failed UNinstalling it.

(UPDATE)

Okay, I decided to forget about the installation (the way it was trying to do it, in the weird window's installer thing), and it compeltely installed! The problem now is this:

+I Open playonline, but it opens in a windowed mode. I click when it says 'press any button', and it goes to the loading screen. 2 seconds into that, I get a windows error saying it had to shut down due to an error, and asks me to send an error report or not. Thats my current situation...any tips guy?? Please :(

Hope someone can help!

It sounds like you may have a physical problem with your hard drive (bad sectors) which is causing corruption of your files.

You may want to do a full check using this seagate tool. Burn up the ISO image using a CD burning software such as Nero.

If your drive returns errors (bad sectors) you want to look at getting it replaced ASAP, whether under warranty or otherwise.

If your hard drive doesn't return any errors then you may want to try a different optical drve for the installation.

Good luck.
