Hey guys I got a question for you all. In FFXI, whenever I enter Ru'Aun Gardens(sky), my frame rate literally tanks to 0 in a heart beat. Now I contacted SE's Tech support about it, and they were able to figure out what was goin on, but were unable to remedy the problem.
The problem for me is that if I have sound enabled in game, I will lose all frame rate upon entry of Ru'Aun Gardens. However, when I disable sound from the config tool, the zone works perfectly fine. Has anyone else ever had this kind of problem?
My PC stats are an AMD 64 2800+ processor, a 9800 Pro graphics card, 1 gig of RAM, sound card is an SB Audigy 2 ZS gamer. If you have an idea of what may be happening, please let me know. =) Thanks in advance.

try updating drivers see if that can help, make sure you update all drivers, the VIA or Nvidia "bus" drivers, the vid card, the soundcard see if that helps... if all else fails, delete the .dat file for the Ru`Ann Gardens music... see if that helps.

Actually the Catalyst 5.3 drivers are the best, the newer ones have problems that are still unresolved and have worse performance in other areas. I've tried. I know. You can try though.
Thanks guys. I ended up removing the music file associated with the zone and it works just fine now. =)
