Slow Movement in FFXIFollow

#1 Feb 22 2005 at 6:38 PM Rating: Decent
I've been playing FFXI since the PC launch and after all my time playing i've never heard of anything like slow character movement happening. I know it isnt lag because it doesnt happen in a slower motion like the frames have to speed up.. but everything in the game is slowed down..?

Im a 46DRK (3rd time playing, I can never stick around but never leave) and when i swing my scythe the movements seem to be considerably slower than they were the day before.. if you were to say that a scythe swing takes 1.5 second to connect my swing motion takes 2.5 seconds to finish x_X spellcasting and JA's dont activate as fast (Which is -painful- for me and my NM camping 'fun'") and it really gimps me in an XP party with my macros and spell's not shooting off at top speed.

I've tried all I can think of, Backround Clipping all the way down, weather effects off, footsteps off, Enemy Frame Rate all the way down, all in-battle effects off chat filter damage taken/missed/missed attacks etc.. and nothing seems to resolve the problem :(

Anybody have any clue what would be causing this? Yesterday none of these problems were happening. The game occasionally goes back up to speed for a second then goes back to it's sluggish movement speed. I did download a few jack black music video's/appearances on shows from Lime Wire.. maybe that's the problem?.. i dont know

Please Help :( (I'm running on GeForce FX5200, and have a cable connection)

Limewire is definately the problem. You should download Spybot Search and Destroy as well as Adaware and Regcleaner 4.3. Limewire and other things like it love to turn your computer into a server though you didnt ask it to. Constant outbound network traffic would slow you down considerably in any game or online activity. Give it a whirl, but in my experience installing a filesharing program usually causes problems that can only be fixed by reinstalling your OS and programs from scratch.

Good luck,
Chili
