error code 3001Follow

ok here is the problem i get to the point where i have linked my handel to the character...it goes to downloading data... and after a minute or more it goes
FFXI- error code 3001
no response from server
connection timed out
press ok to shut down and it goes back to the part b4 you chose what character you want and plays NO music
HELP ME! should i just reinstall? i have all rescent updates and i havnt played for about a week or two. i log on and all this happened.
