FFXI Ventrilo system lock up?Follow

Hey everyone,

I don't know if I am unique in this problem, but it seems that whenever I try to play FFXI with Ventrilo running, my entire system will lock up after a bit (FULL lock up - no mouse movement, sound looping, etc). I can't seem to figure out what is causing it because it never did it until recently.

I'm using Ventrilo 2.14 and my system specs are:

2.6GHz Pentium 4
1024MB RAM
2x120GB HD
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard
128MB Radeon 9600 Pro
SoundBlaster Audigy2 Platinum
Plantronics DSP-500 headset

I have Ventrilo set to play from my headset while the game plays on my speakers. I'm thinking it might be a conflict between the headset and the sound card, but I don't know why it would start locking up all of a sudden. It used to run perfectly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
