Help with upgrading RAM.Follow

My brother has started playing FFXI again, so it means that one will be playing on the PC, and one on the PS2. First come, first serve. PS2 runs FFXI at an optimum level. However our PC only has 356 MB of RAM, and some other programs with we might want to get rid of for the sake of FFXI speed.

I would like to upgrade it to atleast 512, (though if you ahve prices for 1 Gig, that would be great to know too) but I do not know a good place to look and the cost. Although cost isnt a problem, it would be good if I could know the general price of it.

I run a Windows XP Home Edition, and have a 128MB GeForce Ti4200 graphics card if that matters.

Thank you in advance for any help that I can get.

I'd Check pricewatch.com

Can find some really great deals on that site.

you're compute probably uses standard DDR memory, in the pc 333 range. But there are a couple of other possibilities too.

Was your computer a factory made one (dell/compusa/hp/etc) or a home built? If the former, is there a model number on the case?

regardless, two 512 chips will run you about $70-90 each new, less used

Other than that, you can open the case and count the contact pins on the ram.or there may be a sticker on the ram if you don't have a heat spreader on it.
