If you would care to help...

I restarted my computer and now there are no icons on my desktop, and I can't put any icons on it! Refresh doesn't work either! Apart from that, my computer is completetly fine.

Please help!

what video card do you have?

right click on the dektop and go to properties. see if there is an option for dual displays or tv out enabled. if so, turn it off.

Might also want to try hitting ctrl+alt+delete, selecting "run task", find "explorer.exe" in the windows folder and run it.

Do you have a taskbar?

When you right click the desktop and go to properties, are there two rectangles labeled 1 and 2?

Ok, if you right click on the desktop, do you get a grey menu, one of which options says "display properties" ?

ok, click on the settings tab. there should be a button marked "advanced" click that. When that opens, click on the "adaptor" tab. that tab should list a graphics card type. please post that here so I know what card we are dealing with.
