try spybot search and destroy and lavasoft Ad aware. you can get the links form the stickid thread

I believe he is asking how to disable the help bar within FFXI. You know, the huge bar along the top that scrolls helpful hints and information whenever you are in a menu?

I have not found a way to remove this.
