Internet Explorer & computer lock-upFollow

I have the latest version of IE. Less than a week ago, my IE browser started to freeze my entire computer if I went to some specific web sites. The page wouldn't load, then it would freeze up my entire computer. Control-alt-delete wouldn't work. I had to shut the computer off, then reboot. I'm using Netscape now and have no problem going to these same web sites that freeze up IE. I called my ISP and my connection is fine. I'm able to ping, so it's a browser problem. I'm on a cable modem.

I have the latest virus definitions and run that daily. No viruses were found. I also ran AdAware and that found nothing, too.

All I have in my add/remove program list is "Internet Explorer Q831167" and I don't want to try uninstalling that based on other posts in this forum.

Anyone have any ideas, fixes, clues as to the cause of this problem, I'd be grateful.

I ran Windows update and I'm not missing any critical updates.

Thanks for the download. I downloaded, then went to a "problem" site with IE and still got the same result. My computer froze and had to manually shut it down. I believe I already had this update in my add/remove program list, too, and hoped updating it again would overwrite any problems, but unfortunately it didn't. Hopefully Microsoft will have an IE update soon.

I called Dell's useless technical support. I'm smarter than they are. "Gail" in India screwed it up more. Those people are useless.

Netscape seems to work well. Any recommondations for other browsers since IE is cursed?
