freezing and crashingFollow

Every time i log into eq i am freezing and crashing, i have a home-built PC, 512MB DDR RAM, 2.8Ghz AMD Athlon XP, Radeon 9200 and and 80GB HDD, i think it has something to do with the graphics drivers, i have completely uninstaled them and reinstalled them, same with DX9. I have run DX9 diag and it says all is now fine, graphics, sound, everything. what could be doing it?

Run a test on your RAM.

http://www.memtest86.com/

Has a memory tester you can download, either use the "Pre-Compiled Memtest86 v3.1a installable from Windows and DOS" that sits about a 1/4 of the way down the page, or if you're really frisky, there are ISO images to make bootable CD-ROMS to test your memory.

As far as video drivers, are you using the latest drivers from ATI, or are you using someone else's drivers?

Is the computer crashing with any other application?

What makes you think that it's the graphics drivers?

Did you make a change to your system AT ALL just prior to this problem? I mean, ANY new drivers, updates, BIOS revisions, programs, etc.

For grins open up hardware manager to see if there are any conflicts or unrecognized hardware.

Is your video card sharing an IRQ with your sound or network card?

Also, at what point in the login process is it crashing exactly
