POL 1161 FFXIFollow

i hate this I can't update.
I bought this game in Novemeber...i had random crashing. I reinstall and it is ok.
Christmas Update..I can't update. I reinstall again. I can update and I play.
Today, I do not want to reinstall again.
I insure the router is ok.
Now i talk to tech support and they blame the fact i installed ZoneAlarm a long tine ago and uninstalled it and it left stuff on my registry...despite the fact i can normally play the game and get minor updates.
Then they blame my Toshiba cable modem for having a mini-firewall.
Any suggestions?
PS I have reinstalled...still i get POL 1161
