Rendering problems with new ATI cardFollow

I've noticed a couple of times I'd turn a corner and a stair case would not be rendered till I got near it, it's just a missing chunk of wall where I can see through. Also when day changed to night like a wave of light over everything.

There's also a grid about the clouds in the sky.

Is this normal for FFXI?
