I have a big problem :: Free Realms

Whenever I click play for FFXI the screen goes black, and then it goes back to Playonline and says "An error has occured, full screen mode lost(-1). I've been playing for 3 months and this has never happened before. It's very random and strange, but can someone help me?

Post your hardware specifications please, also have you made any recent changes to your computer, and have you scanned for viruses? Are you overclocking at all?

I just recently bought this game and everything was going fine (playonline, ffxi op movie etc) but when I went to make my first char the screen went blank (still have sound and if I move the mouse it makes noise ^^;;) If I alt tab I get this same error... already submitted to tech support, hopefully I will get some help as this looks like a good game! ^^;;

EDIT: No viruses and not overclocking... as for specs..
AMD Athlon 2200
384MB RAM
20GB HD and 4.17GB free
GeForce 4 MX 440
ummm... yea....
oh and newest direct x 9.something
and tried various settings including default in the options

ok, never got a response here or from the makers, but I figured it out on my own. I enabled hardware mouse cursor and simplified character creation visuals in the ffxi misc options and it worked like a charm (name online is guess what.... kkitten :p)

So if anyone else has this problem, try what I did, who knows it might work. ^^;;
