I had to call her because a work-related media account is in her name, and we need control of it, but can't get it through any other channel we want to go through. Not that the call did anything to help there...
And apparently I had to call because the person in question has been ignoring emails from my boss (which isn't remotely surprising, given the circumstances). Not that she was any happier to speak with me. She was quite pleased to say hello to former coworkers at least, so I felt less ****** about bothering her (having never met her).
Also,
I'm sexy as hell and
everyone some of you know it.
Right now, I'm looking at positions in publishing. One was actually posted today that I
really want, but we'll see. They want experience in publishing, but I'm hoping I'll be able to squeeze past that.
The thing that sucks is that publishing is a very closed sector, so starting at the very bottom seems to be the only option for anyone looking to enter the field. I'll have to take a sizable pay cut to do it, but I figure it's worth not being miserable.
I do know this position gave me a lot of experience, and I learned a lot. And if I was a more driven type, I'd probably love it. But money isn't really a big motivator for me (if I have enough for my needs, I'm happy), and I'm not particularly ambitious where my career path is concerned.
As of right now, I've been here about 8 months now (with the fortune of it looking like 9 on a resume). I can make it 3 more if I have to.
I really do hope I get an interview, though.
