I thought the south of Italy was the impoverished, not really industrialised part?
Italy is bankrupt, yo. Good times here in the European Union. Sure glad we joined that nepotistic cesspool back in the days. Giving Germany and France veto over Europe was the best thing to do after World War II, obviously. One tried to conquer the entire world and the other dug itself into a hole upon confronted with the former's agenda. Then came Italy and Greece, one a modern dictatorship and the other a country where people retire at age 50, which is financially feasible, surely.
What I can't wrap my head around is how these financial crises came as a surprise to ******* anyone in Brussels. This has been going on for 20 years and not a single **** was given until it was too late.
Good lord.
