The REAL time-grind is getting the pokemon you want to actually use, not getting them leveled enough to have all the skills you want them to have.
So much freaky pokemon sex to get Earthquake passed through 2 different breeding groups just to round out one little fuzzball. Back and forth went my bike while they did their thing over and over again. Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth...
On the bright side though my captive breeding program managed to release dozens of female sandshrews into the wild.
lol, I'm sure the population of sandshrew will be much better off, and the local ecosystem not at all affected.
Worth noting that they're introducing some kind of super training system that will make EV training even easier. Apparently, it's a series of minigames targeting specific stats, and you can train them at any time. So that should be a nice way to get new pokemon appropriately trained really quickly once you clear the breeding phase.
Other features they're adding:
8 dimensional movement (no more up, left, up, up, up, left).
-Plus, Pokemon mounts (Rhyhorn and one of the new ones confirmed as mount pokemon).
--Apparently, mounts will allow you to use some HM-esque moves while on them. Whether or not the mount needs to know the HM, I don't know.
Sky battles (battles where you can only use flying pokemon or pokemon with the levitate trait).
I'm curious how they'll handle sea battles with non-water pokemon, now that the game terrain is based on the environment.

Guess I'm the only 80's kid who grew up nurturing a seething hatred for all things Pokémon.
It was all about Digimon.
Digimon > Pokémon
True fact.
I rather enjoy both. At it's peak, Digimon has been pretty great. But Pokemon has been more consistently enjoyable.
From an anime perspective, Tamers was really awesome. But I'm not sure I've ever cried as much as the petrification scene in the first pokemon movie...
Game-wise, I have to say I've found the pokemon games more consistently enjoyable. But so few of the digimon games get localized that it's hard to tell.
