My wife and I are kind of the opposite, although I don't mind cooking I love baking. The way I see it, you can be a bit more creative when cooking. Although you can also be creative when baking, only in a "big picture" kind of way - if you don't measure exactly and follow time and temp exactly, your peach/apple pie is going to taste bad. My wife's recipes are all in her head: "you grab a handful of this, throw in a scoop of this, add some of this, and put it in the oven until looks cooked." (I'm only exaggerating a little).
